CGES Oil & Gas London
CGES ONE-DAY SEMINAR
H.E. SHEIKH ZAKI YAMANI
The Geopolitics of Future Energy
on 23rd March 2006
As the nuclear standoff in Iran demonstrates, geopolitics has a great effect on the energy industry. Oil market developments which saw record high oil prices in 2005, were to a great extent caused by geopolitical factors. OPECs waning spare production capacity has been a result of political developments in Iraq and Venezuela, at the same time political constraints have meant minimal investments in OPEC countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iran.
This year's CGES Seminar will discuss geopolitical uncertainties, their impact on oil and gas prices, and the move towards
nuclear power and alternative energy.
The following topics will be discussed:
MEETING FUTURE ENERGY DEMAND
GEOPOLITICS AND OIL SUPPLY UNCERTAINTIES
THE ALTERNATIVES
THE WORLD DESERVES RELIABLE ENERGY
Speakers will include Senior CGES Analysts and other industry experts.
