Redefining the Palestinian Problem:
By Martin Sherman
27 August 2005
TEL AVIV -- The time has come to redefine
the conceptual context in which the plight of Palestinians is perceived. The Palestinians'
violent rejection of the far-reaching Barak initiative underscores that the chances of
reaching a political resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are highly remote if
not totally negligible. On the one hand, it is difficult to envisage any Israeli leader
offering a proposal substantially more generous than Ehud Barak's; on the other hand, its
unequivocally vicious repudiation by the Palestinians indicates that even this offer, for
all its unprecedented generosity, fell substantially short of their minimum demands.
However, if the Palestinian problem seems insoluble in the political context, it may well
be eminently soluble in other contexts -- namely the humanitarian one.
Dispassionate analysis of Palestinian behavior for well over the last half-century
strongly supports the "heretical" assertion that the Palestinians are neither
genuinely desirous nor deserving of statehood. In spite of unstinting international
support for their cause (including strong backing from most influential media
organizations, and the sponsorship of one of the two superpowers during the decades of the
Cold War), the Palestinians have failed miserably in establishing any semblance of a
stable, productive self-governing society or producing any capable, credible, and
competent leadership likely to advance

A group of 200 Christian leaders from seven Asian countries met in the Philippines this week in a show of solidarity with Israel.Millions of Asian Christians Stand for Israel:

The Second Jerusalem Summit Asia took place in Seoul,
South Korea, on August 9-13, 2005.
Korean Hosts of the Summit , The Kingdomizer Mission Alliance, Asias largest church, urged hundreds of Korean Church leaders to adopt a Resolution that has already been endorsed at previous Summits by church leaders who represent millions of Christians all over the world.
The Resolution affirms "the inalienable right of Jewish people to the entire Holy Land and Jerusalem as its eternal capital". It also calls on all the Christians in the world to demand that their governments take "three righteous steps on behalf of Israel and world peace":
1) Build new national embassies in Jerusalem within two years, to acknowledge the eternal truth that an undivided Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, the homeland of the Jewish people, and has never been and will never be a capital for any other entity.
2) Demand that UN resettle the Palestinian refugees in the lands of their Arab brothers to rescue them from the purgatory of refugee status, which was deliberately perpetuated for decades to be used as a weapon against Israel.
3) Demand that Palestinian Authority disarm the terrorists, instead of incorporating them into their "government", and halt all violence and incitement against Israel and its people; failing that, declare the Oslo Agreements null and void.
Led by The East Gate Foundation, a major Christian organization of Philippines , Church leaders from Singapore, Indonesia , India , and Taiwan were the first to sign the Resolution at the Jerusalem Summit Asia -I that took place in 2004 in Manila, Philippines. According to Mr. Dmitry Radyshevsky, the Jerusalem Summits Executive Director, " Israel should not be obsessed with the support of Europe and the US . The effort to get the public support of Asia, Africa, and Latin America is of equal importance. These regions have a tremendous development potential, and their population first of all, Christians possesses moral clarity that draws distinction between the Good and the Evil in the Arab-Israeli conflict." (See Mr. Radyshevskys speech at the Seoul Summit)
The Jerusalem Summit Asia-II in Seoul was co-initiated by South Korean and Filipino Christian organizations and attended by South Korean and Filipino political scientists, media, hundreds of South Korean church leaders representing 13 million believers (26% of the countrys population), as well as members of South Korean Parliament, and Mayor of Seoul Mr. Myung Buk Lee, the former president of Hyundai Corporation and the leading contender for national presidency.
From the Israeli side, the Summit was attended by Knesset members headed by Mr. Yuri Shtern, co-chairman of Christian Allies Caucus of Knesset, as well as the Summits academic experts: Dr. Martin Sherman, who introduced the Humanitarian Alternative to the Oslo process, and Mr. Itamar Marcus, who introduced the evidence of the Nazi propaganda conducted by the Palestinian Autonomy, gathered by his group, Palestinian Media Watch.
Millions of South Korean Christians can see the horrible situation of their brothers in North Korea famine and labor camps as evidence of consequences of atheism and rejection of the Commandments. Christians consider "Blessing Israel" one of the main biblical commandments.
"Jews are the living proof that God exists," said President of Kingdomizer Mission Alliance, Dr. Moses Wang Lee. "If God exists, so do Truth and Lies, and so do the Good and the Evil. Terror is absolute evil. Anti-Semitism and demonization of Jews are absolute evils. They cannot be justified by any political ends."
South Korea and Israel have strategic reasons to stand together against the common enemy. The survival of the totalitarian North Korean regime and its ability to menace the South depend upon its sales of rockets and nuclear technologies to radical Islamic regimes and collaboration with them in the drug trade.
(See the presentation by Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld)
Another strategic consideration is the growth of Islamism in Indonesia and Malaysia, South Koreas back-door neighbors.
The leaders of South Koreas Christians called on their millions-strong community to pray daily for the deliverance of Israel from the threat of terror and the right of Jews to live in all the parts of the Promised Land.

JERUSALEM SUMMIT-NEW EUROPE, UKRAINE
We plan to hold a Jerusalem Summit in Odessa. "New
Europe" is possibly the only hope of European Union in overcoming moral relativism,
which presents a mortal peril for the old Europe.
In the framework of preparation for JS in Odessa , we are preparing a White Paper on the
need of a neo-conservative revival in Europe . This will be a collection of articles by
leading European neo-conservative scientists, public and Christian leaders, on the
necessity of bringing together the constructive forces of Europe to resist the dying-out
of Europeans, the de-Christianization of Europe, and radicalization of its Moslem
population.
We will appreciate your recommendations of authors and articles on the subject, as well as
for your ideas on feasibility of revival of Judeo-Christian values in Europe.
JERUSALEM SUMMIT AFRICA
We are working on Jerusalem Summit-Africa to be held
in early 2006 in South Africa in cooperation with International Christian Embassy
Jerusalem (ICEJ) and Bridges for Peace.
V. A 3-D VISION OF PEACE:
De-politicization of the Problem;
De-militarization of PA;
De-jihadization of Palestinians
We continue working on an Alternative Plan to the Arab-Israeli conflict which
integrates plans and arguments of the best minds connected to the Jerusalem
Summit.
De-politicization implies a change of paradigm: from trying in vain to placate
historically, legally and morally unjustified political demands of Palestinian leadership
to caring for legitimate humanitarian needs of Palestinian people.
Humanitarian Solution is described in the paper by Dr. Martin Sherman
and is supported by the results of a poll conducted among
Palestinians.
The urgency of a need for an intellectually honest and morally clear alternative is based
on assessments from the top Israeli military and political experts that the Unilateral
Disengagement from Gaza will lead to a major war, constituting a mortal danger to Israel,
Middle East security and the free world.
Please, read some of these assessments:
IDF Chief of Staff Gen. Moshe Yaalon, Maj. General (res.);
Gen.Yakov Amidror, VP, Lander Institute, Jerusalem & Former Commander of the Israeli Military Colleges and
Yuval Stenitz, M.K, Chairman, Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee; Chairman Subcommittee for Intelligence and Secret Services.
VI. NUCLEARIZATION OF IRAN
Jerusalem Summit was actively involved in shaping the agenda
for the special session of Knesset's Forum on the Middle East. The session was held on
June 28th, on the subject of Nuclearization
of Iran.
Dear Friend of Israel,
We are asking you to take few minutes to read
the following synopsis of a proposal for a
Humanitarian-Regional Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
http://www.jerusalemsummit.org/eng/hs_flyer.php.
We believe this is a solution that is consistent with Biblical prophesies and principles, and would greatly appreciate your comments on the proposal, its internal logic, moral validity and economic and political feasibility.
According to senior Israeli military and political experts, the unilateral disengagement
from Gaza and the subsequent HAMAS electoral victory is liable to lead to large-scale
military conflict within several years.
Such assessments have been made in the past by former IDF Chief of Staff Gen. Moshe Yaalon; Maj. Gen. Yaacov Amidror; and Chairman of Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee M.K. Dr. Yuval Steinitz.
Thus, in addition to the teachings of the Holy Bible, these professional assessments of the future, together with sober analysis of past events and present developments in the region, bring us to the conclusion that the political approach to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (based on the concept of "Land-for-Peace") has proved a dismal and decisive failure. Consequently, any further attempts to implement it will be futile even counter-productive.
There is, therefore, an urgent need for an intellectually honest, logically consistent and morally clear alternative. We believe that the proposal we are forwarding you constitutes such an alternative and integrates the analyses and insights of the best minds associated with the Jerusalem Summit.
Your endorsement of the idea is of crucial consideration to us-thus, we would greatly value your input and feedback.
As you will see, the proposal advocates totally different approach to the Palestinian problem in general, and to the plight of individual Palestinians in particular one based on the principles of humanitarianism, morality and freedom of choice.
Another important feature is that the principal elements of this plan can be implemented unilaterally by Israel. It is a plan that not only follows in the footsteps of Abraham (offering generous price to the occupants of the Land promised to him) and conforms entirely to the principles of individual liberty, but it is also one that constitutes a "win-win" solution which will:.
§
Alleviate and even eliminate the humanitarian plight of individual Palestinians§
Ensure the continued security and survival of Israel as the Jewish nation-state§
Provide a significant boost to the economies of the developing world§
Transform poverty stricken refugees into affluent émigrésA recent survey commissioned by the Jerusalem Summit among Palestinians revealed that a solid majority (over 70%) expressed a willingness to accept it in one form or another and only a small minority (15%) would reject the proposal.
Of course we realize that this Alternative may not win immediate acceptance or instant approval, but it is a concept that must be put - and kept - on the international diplomatic agenda, so that in the tragic and traumatic aftermath of the future violence - which regrettably seems inevitable - our prediction will hopefully be recalled, and the implementation of our proposed plan be seriously undertaken.
We urge you:
to send us your comments on the proposal, it internal logic, moral validity and economic and political feasibility
to convey these ideas to your religious and political leaders and encourage them to endorse them
