Jordan Investment and Finance Bank was established as a financial institution in 1982 and was licensed in 1989 as a public shareholding investment bank with a paid-up capital of JD4.5 million (US$6.3 million), which was increased several times to reach JD33 million (US$46.5 million) with a par value of JD1 (US$1.41) per share. The Bank is listed on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) under the symbol JIFB.AM.
JIF Banks headquarter is located in Shmesani-Amman, with around 160 employees. The Bank offers wide range of business, personal and investment banking services through a network of eight branches and three automated teller machines (ATMs).
JIF Bank has an extensive experience and knowledge in the Jordanian Capital Market. The Bank has a wide base of institutional investors both locally and internationally, as it was the first bank to deal with international institutional investors in the Jordanian Capital Market. For the past several years, JIF Bank ranked among the top five brokers in the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). In the year 2000, JIF Bank managed the execution of the acquisition of the Jordan Dead Sea Industries Company by Arab Potash Company. Also, the Bank has executed the merger of National Equipment and Technical Services (NETS), First Telecommunications Group (FTG) and Bahrain Telecom that resulted in Batelco Jordan.
The Bank is specialized in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance and works directly with the Execution Privatization Commission (EPC) of the Government, providing many financial consultancies including the privatization of Jordan Silos and Supply General Company. Currently, the Bank is working on the restructuring and privatization of the Vehicle Inspection Stations (VIS) that is currently operated by the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department (DVLD).
JIF Bank is regulated by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) in addition being licensed by the Jordan Securities and Commissions (JSC) as a broker/dealer at Amman Stock Exchange (ASE).
