Two more Israeli soldiers were killed in fighting in southern Lebanon. The deaths brought to three the number of soldiers killed Monday in Bint Jbeil, a Hezbollah stronghold.

An Israeli airstrike in a Beirut suburb killed at least one person. Monday’s strike also wounded an estimated 20 Lebanese.

Ehud Olmert asked North American Jews for help in fighting Hezbollah.

"I believe this is a war which is fought by all the Jews," the Israeli prime minister said in a conference call and webcast Monday. The call was sponsored by the United Jewish Communities to launch its Israel Emergency Campaign.

Israel was barred from holding international soccer games because of the rockets landing in northern Israel. The UEFA, the governing body for European soccer, said all games scheduled to be played in Israel will be played abroad until further notice.
