About the Ma'arat HaMachpela Authority

The Ma'arat HaMachpela Authority was established in order to assist in advancing the rights of the Jewish People and to improve conditions for Jewish visitors and worshippers to Ma'arat HaMachpela. The Authority assists in improving conditions for prayers and visits, and shares in the burden of ongoing maintenance and clean-up. The Authority attends to maintaining and adding equipment, holy books, chairs, etc.

The Authority fosters an attachment between Jews from all over Israel and the Ma'ara by organizing special and regular chartered buses to Hebron. It also assists in fostering such an attachment for Jews from all over the world. The Authority is a participant in organizing mass events held on holidays and other special occasions in the Ma'ara Plaza, and it provides assistance in holding weddings, britot, family celebrations and other joyous affairs. Together with other bodies, the Authority advances projects in the realm of public relations and linking the Jewish People to their roots in Ma'arat HaMachpela.

The Authority concentrates resources and contributions for advancing various causes in the Ma'ara – both spiritual and Torah-related projects, as well as physical projects in the realm of construction, improving conditions, rest-rooms upkeep, etc. It also advances human projects – assistance in bringing visitors, making their stay at the site more pleasant, etc. Recommendations for other projects and contributions will be gratefully received.
