welcomes you to a conference at Haifa University:

'Separation Walls between Arabs and Jews in Israel'

Following the publication of Behind the Walls: Separation Walls between Arabs and Jews in Mixed Cities and Neighborhoods in Israel in December 2005, the Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA), in coordination with the Jewish-Arab Centre and Haifa University, is pleased to invite you to a conference, 'Separation Walls between Arabs and Jews in Israel' on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Haifa University (Observatory, 30th floor, Ehskol Tower).

The purpose of the conference is two-fold:

§ To bring the issue of separation walls within Israel to the academic forefront

§ To provide a novel platform for varied views/solutions on these separation walls

The conference will consist of three sessions and will host a number of academics, community leaders (Jewish and Arab) from Israel's mixed cities, political representatives and experts in the fields of law and geography. The HRA will present its take on the separation walls from a human rights perspective.

The conference proceedings will be held in Hebrew, with simultaneous English translation.
