The MIT-USGS Science Impact Collaborative (MUSIC):
is based in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Jointly with the United States Geological Survey and the Bureau of Land Management (in the U.S. Department of the Interior) we are testing ways in which joint fact finding (JFF) can be used to promote collaborative planning in science-intensive policy disputes. Our goal is to ensure that an appropriate balance between science and politics can be maintained when decisions must be made regarding the use of natural resources.
